Three best landing spots for Giants WR Darius Slayton

Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton is entering the final year of his current deal and did not report to voluntary offseason workouts this week as he seeks a contract extension.

Slayton led New York in receiving yards last season and four of the past five years. However, if the team isn't interested in giving him his desired payday, it could trade him ahead of or during the 2024 NFL Draft.

With that in mind, here are the three best landing spots for the 27-year-old.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are still in the market for a wide receiver to pair with George Pickens after trading Diontae Johnson to the Panthers earlier this offseason.

Pittsburgh may opt to address the position through the NFL Draft at this point as there has been no other team better at drafting wide receivers outside of the first round.

However, general manager Omar Khan has proven to be aggressive in acquiring players the team likes and that could turn out to be the case for Slayton. Plus, it would allow the Steelers to draft other needs earlier.

Los Angeles Chargers

QB Justin Herbert's arsenal of weapons has been depleted over the past couple of months, watching the Chargers trade Keenan Allen to the Bears and Mike Williams join the Jets in free agency.

Los Angeles simply cannot roll into the season with Quentin Johnston, Joshua Palmer and Derius Davis as its top three wide receivers.

It's almost a guarantee that the team will add to the room, especially with the No. 5 overall pick, but the Chargers must add more than one playmaker between now and the start of the season. Slayton could be the perfect complement to whoever Los Angeles drafts.

Chicago Bears

The Bears already have an electric wide receiver duo in Allen and DJ Moore, but adding Slayton to the group may give them the best trio in the league.

Chicago owns the No. 1 overall pick, which will likely be used on USC QB Caleb Williams. It's not often rookie quarterbacks are set up as well as Williams is going to be.

Adding Slayton to the mix will only set up Williams for more success while allowing the team to strengthen another position, such as offensive tackle or edge-rusher, with its second first-round pick (No. 9).
