Has Father Time caught up to Ravens WR Odell Beckham Jr.?

There was a ton of hype surrounding Baltimore's addition of WR Odell Beckham Jr. this offseason, but it appears age has officially caught up to him after an incredibly underwhelming start in 2023.

The soon-to-be 31-year-old wide receiver has just nine catches for 113 yards and zero touchdowns in four games this season and has continually found himself on the injury report.

There are 130 players in the NFL with more receiving yards than Beckham Jr. and 160 players with more receptions this season, per ESPN.com.

The 2014 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year's best days are clearly behind him, and Baltimore must be kicking itself after handing him a one-year, $15 million contract in the offseason.

Beckham Jr., however, still believes he can be a difference-maker on the offensive side of the ball with plenty of season remaining.

"It's a long season. It's about catching fire when you're supposed to," Beckham Jr. told reporters. "So you do have to be optimistic about the season, and that's where I'm trying to stay in that mindset of there's a lot of opportunities."

No player wants to think about hanging up his cleats before he had imagined, especially one who has played at the level Beckham Jr. has in his prime. However, the veteran wide receiver has suffered two season-ending ACL injuries and is on his third team in three years, proving team's aren't confident in his abilities in the long run.

There is still time to change the minds of those beginning to doubt him, but it hasn't been pretty to watch thus far, especially when Steelers rookie CB Joey Porter Jr. told Beckham Jr. to "go be a family man" after making a touchdown-saving interception that aided a comeback win for Pittsburgh over the Ravens in Week 5.
