Cubs Legend Anthony Rizzo Hits 300th Career Home Run, Helps Yankees Crush Brewers

With the New York Yankees leading the Brewers 13-5 in the eighth inning, Rizzo launched a two-run moonshot to center field, extending the Bronx Bombers' lead. It was the second straight game in which the Yankees scored 15 runs against the Brewers.

Although Rizzo has now moved on from the Cubs after being traded during the 2021 season, the North Side faithful still remember everything the four-time Gold Glover and three-time All-Star did for the city of Chicago. Most notably, the steady first baseman helped the Cubs win a World Series Championship in 2016.

Rizzo was a staple in the Cubs' lineup during the organization's resurgence and return to baseball glory. In parts of 10 seasons with the Cubs, the former Silver Slugger notched 242 home runs, 283 doubles, and 784 RBIs with a .272 batting average and an .861 OPS.

For the 2024 season, Rizzo is slashing .277/.341/.446 with five home runs and 15 RBIs. Although Rizzo isn’t wearing Cubbie blue anymore, Chicago fans are always happy to see the franchise legend help stack 15 runs against one of their division rivals.
